Renzo Bertasi nasce a Lazise (VR) nel 1949,
attualmente vive e lavora sul Garda a Soiano del Lago (BS).
Negli anni '70 inizia a fotografare
interessandosi alla fotografia sociale. Attorno agli anni '80 inizia le sue
prime sperimentazioni sul negativo, "Fine - inizio - ricomposizione".
Dal '85 al '95 tiene corsi di fotografia per istituzioni pubbliche e
private. Dal 1987 ad oggi pubblica circa una ventina di cataloghi che
riguardano le sue molteplici ricerche e indagini sul mondo della fotografia e
un paio di volumi legati ad un lavoro di ricerca sul materiale fotografico
storico del Lago di Garda. Ha partecipato a mostre internazionali: Pechino,
Svezia, Germania, Austria e Spagna. Le sue opere costituiscono un fondo presso
il CSAC di Parma. Il suo linguaggio si avvale prevalentemente del mezzo
fotografico tradizionale. Cura personalmente le stampe e tutte le elaborazioni
in camera oscura.
Renzo Bertasi was born in Lazise
(VR) in 1949, he lives and works on Lake Garda in Soiano del Lago (BS).
He began to photograph in the ‘seventies, being
interested above social photography. In the 'eighties he began his first
experiments with negatives, "Fine - inizio – ricomposizione”
(“end – beginning –reform”). From 1985 to 1995 he taught photography in
private and public schools. Since 1987 he has published more than 20 catalogues
about his many faceted interests in the world of photography, as well as a
couple of books about his researches into historical material related to the Lake
of Garda. He has taken part in international exhibitions in Beijing, Sweden,
Germany, Austria and Spain. His works have been acquired by CSAC, Parma, Italy.
His main interests and works over the past years
have been: "Il Corpo come Paesaggio e il Paesaggio come il corpo” (The
Body as a Landscape and the Landscape as a Body), "Tensioni – bolle di sapone”
(Tensions - soap bubbles), e “Rayografie” (X-Ray photograph).
He currently works with groups of
actors creating surreal performances inspired by literature, music and cinema: Il mondo di Maigret (Maigret’s world) –
Romanzo Metafisico (Metaphysical Novel) a black and white work and the color sequel of Metaphysical Novel (Superamenti e visioni).
